Hi babes,
So not sure if you will have seen on socials or not but I am starting my very own 8 week transformation. This will be the first time I have been on such a focused programme both nutritionally and training wise.
So first, what is this?
I am on an 8 week transformation with an online coach, each week I will have check ins with nutrition updates and adjustments and training progressions. We shall see where my body takes me!!
Why am I doing this?
First of all, the coaches that I am working with I respect and trust in the industry whole heartedly, I have learnt from them previously in a business capacity and so working with them myself is super exciting. They are known in the industry for transformations, so why not learn from them to be able to bring that to my own clients?
I will never prescribe a journey to my clients that I haven’t been on myself, so it’s an exciting journey for myself and clients in the future!
Secondly, as well as learning more about my body, it’s exciting to see where my body can go. I am not a trainer that wants to go to stage, personally not my cup of tea or goal that I would like to strive for but feels awesome to be working on my body.
My reasons aren’t important to anyone else, however one thing I wanted to mention I am human too! I want to continue to strive to better my performance, journey and improve as a coach.
As this is the first time that I have gone on a journey like this, in this time period I thought I would document it the whole way so you can come on the journey with me 🙂
So – Week 1, what has this looked like?
First week consists of; pretty high calories actually, it surprised me actually how much food it was when I got eating. The first couple of days were really hard to get the calories in. My protein was too low but I felt so full and didn’t want to eat anymore. I was finding myself with a few hundred calories under each day which was not ideal at all.
Training was highlighted – no rest, training 7 days a week (intensity due to the time length of the transformation) and 4 x a week is tempo resistance training. Day one and two – it felt so good to get back properly working with weights and following something I haven’t had to the think about (another joy of having a coach!).
Then Wednesday happened and already the body is adapting…I FELT SO HUNGRY!!!
Cravings increased, workouts felt tough, particularly Friday. My head wasn’t in it at all. I am fortunate that I have a husband that is all aboard this too so we are training together, planning meals together so it makes this A LOT easier. We completed the workout but I would definitely rate 4/10 on Friday.
Scales have continued to drop throughout the week and feels good having someone to be accountable to again so yeah feeling really positive about it.
Overall thoughts of week one – First week is always going to be a bit odd anyway because it’s a new programme, getting used to new menus and calories! Definitely going to take a little getting used to working with my macros so much. I only usually look at protein really so it’s interesting to focus on fats and carbs as well.
Absolutely buzzing for training so much, haven’t trained this much since I was in Asia so feels really good to be bang on it everyday and working towards a programme.
My biggest takeaway from week 1 has been not having any carbohydrates for breakfast. First of all, this was a bloody nightmare as all my go to’s have some carbohydrates in!! However got our menu sorted and it’s actually been great, kept glucose levels stable throughout the day and satiated nicely until the first snack late lunch.
I shall keep you updated after week 2 – next week sees 220 less daily calories but training is staying the same so let’s see what happens!
Until next week babes!
