Ask yourself this…Is your life demonstrating what is important to you?

Think about the language you use to yourself in your day to day life.

Does that narrative in your brain frequently use words such as “have and should?” Are you living your life by “aught tos” rather than what you actually want to do?

Sometimes it can be hard to even think about what we truly value, is it something you have even thought about?

Of course we have our loved ones around us, our families and friends but I am talking about what do you do FOR you, not for anyone else. What do you think about most? What do you visualise about most in your mind? What do you dream of? What do you spend most of your time doing?

You may have not even thought about this in your conscious mind before…until now!

From the moment we are crawling and walking we are given yes and no instructions from what we should do, how we should behave and from the very first year of our lives values are enforced onto us which later continues to develop into socialisation and what we know as conformity.

However this isn’t where growth happens, we don’t grow in conformity, we grow and evolve through individualisation and jumping out that comfort zone!

99% of us conform, why? We are forced into this 9-5 way of living, getting asked questions about why are we not married yet? When are we having children? When did we stop exploring? When did we stop playing? These societal norms are not only draining joy and passion but they are dampening our creativity.

Now babes listen, I am not saying there is anything wrong with the 9-5, I am here for it, what I am not here for is people going day in, day out in a job they hate, a lifestyle they are not happy with, with no joy when waking up and that horrific Sunday dread, you know the score.

Yes I know we have to work, I know bills have to be paid, families have to be fed but why can’t there be a happy medium to make sure you are living your life by the standards of everything you love? Everyone deserves happiness and fulfilment in whatever that means to them.

Is that too much to ask? This isn’t the dress rehearsal, why are we not taking that leap of faith WHATEVER that looks like for you.

Doing that additional training on the side, starting a new hobbie, asking someone you like for a date night, distancing ourselves from people that aren’t good for us, filling our calendar with more fun adventures.

There is no right or wrong here! It depends on what YOU VALUE. Not what you think you SHOULD value.

Now our values and beliefs control and determine our quality of life. We get into problems when our internal conflicts allow us to pull back.

“I really want to do this but…”

Which is why we must continue to work on progress in whichever capacity that is. Progress is what gives us life, how do your feel when you are not progressing?

As Tony Robbins puts it – ‘Success without fulfilment is failure’.

We need to change the script of “fine, same shit different day, work is work…” We have all been there, we have all said, we have all heard it. The living for the weekend mentality.

Be in that 20% of people that love their work, be the one who has thousands of positive, empowering neurological pathways rather than negative.

Why do we have to have an excuse to feel good?

We need to change the script and narrative. If someone says they are feeling really good today, why are we questioning it looking for a reason why, let’s enjoy it, embrace it and get lost in that energy!

Ask yourself again…Is your life demonstrating what is important to you?
